We have three properties:

Studio House

Phase 1

This is where the clients reside during their induction phase. Studio House is an old Residential Care Home situated in New Basford close to local shops, the tram network, local bus routes and within walking distance of the city centre. There are small gardens at the front and rear of the building and ten single bedrooms, two on the ground floor and eight on the first floor. All bedrooms have washbasins, an en-suite toilet and a TV point.

On the ground floor of Studio House, there is a large communal living/dining area and a conservatory. There is a group room for meetings and a small ‘quiet room’. The kitchen area, laundry, two bathrooms with toilets and another WC room which are all shared; they are to be found on both floors. We also have a workshop/storage area in the basement.

The kitchen is a good size, it is fully equipped and all equipment/utilities are provided for communal group eating. Residents also have their own cupboards and share communal refrigerators and freezers.

There is a laundry room complete with an automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron for residents to use. The building is non-smoking.
All necessary fire equipment, including the alarm system, fire extinguishers and the emergency lighting is in place and regularly tested and kept in good order by a contract with an external company. All corridors are fitted with smoke detectors and bedrooms with heat detectors regular testing is completed in compliance with legislation. Staff are on-hand during the day and at night to help in the evacuation process should this be necessary.

Access to the main entrance is by a ramp and rails. The building has been modified to be wheelchair accessible throughout most parts and there is a lift access to the second floor. However, the building is not capable of fully providing for the needs of a fully wheelchair-bound person as a resident.


Phase 2

The ‘Annexe’ building represents the Community Phase; this 4-bedroomed property has a standard residential house layout, set on 3 floors. On the ground floor there is a self-catered kitchen with breakfast bar, a separate dining room and lounge. The first floor has the shared bathroom and toilet with two bedrooms and the second floor holds the remaining two bedrooms. The bedrooms each have TV access, as well as the lounge and dining room areas.

The kitchen has its own laundry facilities and outside to the rear there is a small garden. All utility bills are paid by from the rental payments. The property is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Studio House.


Phase 3

This is where clients reside during their senior phase. This property lies in Carrington, about 15/20 minutes’ walk from Studio House. It is our Senior Phase property and has 4 bedrooms on two floors with a self-contained flat on the third floor. On the ground floor there is one bedroom, a lounge/eating area, and the kitchen. The second floor has three bedrooms a bathroom and a separate WC/shower room. In the basement there is an additional shower/WC room. The property has its own laundry facilities and the council tax & water rates are included in the rental charge. Gas and electric usage is shared and paid by the household and operates through token meters.
